Erase-A-Mark™ blue chalk was invented in the 1940’s by an engineer from San Francisco, CA and is a one-of-a-kind, erasable, Bible marker.
We use the original formula when manufacturing the chalk, and we make it in small batches. From there it is cured, hand scored, cleaned, sorted, and packaged. Due to the handmade nature of the chalk, it is rough at the ends, so we suggested smoothing it on a bit of scrap paper before writing in your book.
The chalk writes smoothly and is easily removed from delicate Bible pages with a soft cloth, or one of our ultra-suede erasers. This makes it ideal for studying the Bible or for teaching.
Because of the myriad types of Bible paper, (the chalk erases best from Bibles with uncoated paper) we suggest testing the chalk in an inconspicuous area in your Bible, to make sure it erases before marking the main text.
Though the chalk was originally invented to mark, then erase, from Bibles, it has also been used to mark fabrics and it erases from sewing patterns, as well as from The Norton Anthology of English Literature.
We now carry two colors of chalk, blue and purple. (Why only two colors? Because they are only 2 of 3 that actually erase or are removable from the type of books and paper mentioned above. We will be carrying pink chalk soon – the 3rd color that erases.)
