Luke 6:31 – A Good Reminder.
“Do to others what you would have them do to you.” Luke 6:31…so easy to forget in the daily rush of life, but so important to remember.
That’s why I circled this verse with our erasable chalk, in my Bible.
This post was inspired by a recent experience. I became angry when I saw that someone had parked in the driveway of a friend with special needs. This wasn’t the first time. In fact, it had happened many times before, even though I’d asked the person not to park there, so I suppose I felt justified in my sudden angry outburst towards them. But, afterward, I felt awful.
I vowed not to react like that again. And, soon, another chance came.
This time I spoke to the person calmly and though inside I still felt some anger, I didn’t lose my temper. In the ensuing months, the person has not parked there again, but if they do, and I have to talk to them about the issue, I’m going to endeavor not to be angry, at all, while still getting my point across. (Not always easy for me.)
