Be brave – mark your Bible!
The Bible is one of the bestselling books of all time. I know. It’s revered. It’s sacred. And, it’s often a family heirloom passed down from generation to generation, but it’s also a book that countless people want to understand. And, marking it helps one understand it!
So, I mark mine. In fact, all my life I’ve marked pretty much every book I’ve read. Well, not library books or books I don’t own, but for as long as I can remember, I have never read a book without a pencil or pen in my hand.
For me, marking books is an essential tool for understanding what I’m reading and cements the ideas in my mind. It’s like placing an exclamation point at the end of a sentence – literally, making a point so I don’t forget it.
So, whether you use erasable chalk in your Bible or a permanent marker, if it helps you understand the message, mark it! (You won’t get in trouble.)
